In connection with Violator, Anton Corbijn created a masterpiece with one of the songs on the record, Enjoy the Silence. The world's most beautiful song with the amazingly beautifully filmed music video. In the same way, he also created a video for the last song on the album. The song clean … I've always dreamed of making a Martin! How to get my version of the video to Clean ... Was it fun to make this video? YES! Was it exciting? YES! Was my wife skeptical? YES! Was it good? YES! I would like to thank my wife for always having been there for 24 years ... Thank you for daring to participate in the film! I am full of admiration for your courage! "In a few days in January, I loaded my orange speakers into the car" Depeche Mode for me is the perfect group. Dave with his amazing nice voice! Martin with his sick beautiful lyrics! Andy with his happy mood that meant more than you think! And then Alan, the man who created the sound landscape ... Then, of course, we have many other people who meant a lot to DM's success. But one person I have to mention is Anton Corbijn. In a few days in January, I loaded my orange speakers into the car and drove around the landscape and photographed and filmed them in different environments. Some of the photos are taken close to where I live in southern Sweden, but most are from an island called Öland in the Baltic Sea. Here the soul can really get calm, and it is where my ancestors worked and made for their livelihood as fishermen. At this place, my grandfather died, so it's really sacred ground for me. When I mounted my speakers, something happened magically! It was as though they saw the landscape itself and became so powerful and moody. Here they stood orange the speakers in the landscape and I just got so stupid to see them move in the wind ... See when the rain and the snow hit the surface … I closed my eyes and felt the music that pumped out of the speakers in my imagination. Never let me down again ... Behind the Wheel ... Little 15 ... Nothing … The memories rinsed over me ... It's strange that ... How DM's music becomes one with life ... Please enjoy! Here they come orange speakers in different environments Start the Tape.... https://youtu.be/WcyBMcj8C18 Posted by: Ola Pettersson
Hello everyone! I hope all is well with you! My name is Ola Pettersson, 48 years old and I come from the southern part of Sweden called Skåne. 1982 when I was 12 years old I sat watching a program on Swedish television called the Måndagsbörsen. DM appeared and I was fascinated by, above all, how Alan Wilder played on his keyboard. One of the songs they played was See You who stuck in my head. During my first time, I was literally fighting for my music taste. In Sweden at this time, you were either Synthare ... Or hard rockers. 1984 November 17th I finally met the group that meant so much in my life ... Even today, over 34 years later, if I close my eyes ... Then I can feel the amazing atmosphere. Goosebumps! My DM take over the day in Love! Love to DM and to my wife & my 4 daughters. In the center of events, the iconic orange speaker from Music for the Masses will be ... Start the tape! I'm Gooch -- DM's tour manager. I'll be taking over today and giving a couple behind the scenes views of a travel day on tour. As the TM, my job is to get the band from point A to point B every day, get them on and off stage, to handle the daily logistics like hotels, vans, etc., and a multitude of other random tasks that are passed to me each day. It's all about organization. I started working with DM in 2009 on the Tour of the Universe, and my life has never been the same...I'm working on some important things today -- stay tuned. I've accumulated lots of memorabilia over the decades. FAR too much to for one photo. But these are my most 'precious and fragile things'. The first DM record I ever owned. A promo 12" of "Everything Counts" given to me by uncle who was also a DJ (RIP) An Anton Corbijn photo book, autographed by Martin. A CD sleeve for the first RECOIL project, signed by Alan. A very rare (framed) shirt from the World Violation tour at Dodgers Stadium in L.A.. Lastly, what is now my oldest remaining tour shirt from the historic "For The Masses" tour of 87. "Always nice to meet a hero, and they are exactly as you'd hoped." When the guys made the 2 day Dallas stop on the Devotional Tour, I was honored to be asked to DJ their private after party. I did my best to act all cool, but in my head I was a mess! I finally got a chance to speak to my idol, Martin, about all the dumb stuff I'd wanted to ask over 12 years. He was totally gracious and conversed with me as if he hadn't had to answer these questions a billion times before. We discussed lyric meaning, favorite and least favorite songs, remixes, everything. Oh, and soccer jerseys. Its always nice to meet a hero, and they are exactly as you'd hoped. Posted by: Scottie Canfield
Info: A punto de empezar la gira en US y México aquí pueden encontrar una crónica y entrevista de Judy Cantor-Navas para @billboard del pasado concierto del 27/01 en Barcelona.
Hey world, I'm Scottie from Dallas, Tx. I've been a ride or die DM devotee since 1983 after hearing "Construction Time Again". I was instantly obsessed. Although I was very young at the time, that album changed the way I listened to music and was the gateway to the dance/electronic music scene that would eventually become my passion and profession. Therefore, the majority of my posts will be about the music and its impact. Sometimes on a personal level. Also a story here and there about cool personal experiences and memorabilia. I hope everyone enjoys my contributions to the page! Posted by: Scottie Canfield

What is your favorite DM 12" version/remix? I always appreciated how hands-on the guys were with their 12" singles. They were in studio for, and many times participated in the remix process. The 12" version of "Shake The Disease", for me, is a masterpiece moment. I actually feel this version surpasses the LP version. This arrangement gives the layers, keys, and chords a chance to breathe and shine. Taking the song to a totally different emotional level for me. I listened to it no less than 5 times in a row when I first got it back in 85. It's my "go to" DM song for any mood I may be in. Posted by: Scottie Canfield

Do you have any highlights from the Global Spirit Tour? I love to combine Depeche Mode and traveling. One of my destinations was Glasgow. The concert was amazing, out of the 18 shows I've seen so far it is my absolute highlight of this Global Spirit Tour. I made it to front row and I was so happy! The small venue was on fire, full of a thrilled crowd, and our boys were in their best form. At a certain point they played Cover Me - my favourite song of the tour and always with desire in my heart. Dave came to the edge of the stage and so I tried to reach his hand. "Reach out and touch Dave"! Unfortunately the stage was too far away or my arms were too short, there were 20cm missing to finally touch him. This was kind of the bane of my tour, the same happened in Frankfurt and also in Bologna. And then came Hamburg and finally, I'm the "Happiest Girl", the distance to stage matched the length of my arm and I didn't want to let Dave go anymore... Posted by: Traicy Gensch
